Capabilities

At the core of Speed Assemblies impressive SMT facility is the New Samsung CP40 with a 9000 component per hour placement speed. It has 3 laser guided head with a 0.1mm placement accuracy. It can cover 0402 - 0.2mm lead pitch devices.

Along side the Samsung are one Quadra vision and two TWS Quadra machines capable of accurately placing 0402 components through to 50mm x 50mm FQFP and BGA's

The four machines give a comprehensive capability of over a million placements per week in a single shift. Each machine can take 120 unique components and using parallel processes gives a capability of upto 480 unique components in a single run.

2 Reflow ovens, one infra red and one forced air convection covers all surface mount requirements. We also have an environmental chamber for drying out moisture sensitive devices.

  

  

 

Prototyping

The key to an effective prototype service is to ensure we communicate fully with our customers and provide the flexibility and speed they require at this stage.

If required, we can supply a 'Production Engineering report' on the prototypes - highlighting any issues which will improve the manufacturing of the product when volumes increase.

 

 

 

 

Test/Calibration and Mechanical Build

We have trained technicians using the latest test equipment to enable the customer guaranteed working products on delivery with the confidence that minimum involvement is required.

Our team can build and design a solution or use already designed equipment.

It is not always possible to test the products we build which is why we have invested in the latest Automatic Optical Inspection machine.
It is capable of inspecting polarity, shorts, component recognition and solderability down to the smallest 0402 components and quad flat pack devices
